POP-UP

The Pop-Up Shop is a 3.7m high x 8m long inflatable structure, designed to house a small fit-out of a retail store. Fitted with a change room, lighting, POS, stock storage and 2 sets of suspended chrome railings to display garments.
I constructed 2 x 4m long led tube lights that sat within a solid aluminium U channel which were suspended from links that I had sewn into the structure during manufacture.

I wanted a seamless railing for displaying stock in-store and was determined to have it not look like a 'temporary' fixture. I achieved the look by constructing it with chrome piping, lined with galvanised steel for additional strength. Each end was hung from the loops that I had stitched into the structure in the design & production stage.
I wanted the shop to stand out, and not almost look like a permanent fit-out. One of the main ways I achieved this was the sheer scale of the shop. Standing nearly 4 metres tall and 8 metres deep, i introduced a door opening height of 2.7 metres, which made it feel like the grandest of entrances.
The entire shop was up and completed in 2.5 hours. This meant we had to be entirely prepared to fix, innovate and build on the go & in the end, it went up and came down with no issues.
